Student Affairs Insight Days: Overview

The Master of Science in Counseling with an emphasis in Student Affairs program at Mississippi State University provides a broad base on which students may build and advance their careers within higher education. The program is designed to provide students with studies in Student Affairs that focus on a comprehensive model of leadership in higher education and student development. The blending of theory to practical work experience creates a thriving learning environment where students explore new ideas, bring them to the table, and learn from one another. The program can be completed as a full-time student in two academic years (9 credits/academic semester). Full-time students will commence coursework in the fall of the academic year.

If you are interested in applying to the Student Affairs master’s program, visiting campus to meet us in person, and interviewing for Graduate Assistantships that can subsidize tuition for your graduate school experience, join us for the MSU Student Affairs Insight Days event February 18-19, 2016!

Both formal and informal activities have been planned to help potential students become more familiar with the Student Affairs graduate program, expectations in graduate school, and the Mississippi State University campus community. As a part of this program, there is a chance to interview for graduate assistant positions for the fall. We are anticipating more than 10 open positions in recreational sports, housing and residence life, student activities, and many more.
